Chapel Hill
Historic, beautiful Chapel Hill is home to the University of North Carolina flagship campus and its tradition of national champion sports teams, including the 2004-05 men's basketball team and what may be sports' greatest dynasty, the UNC women's soccer team.

Durham
Home to Duke University and the world-renowned Duke Medical Center, Durham has embraced its roots as a tobacco town and evolved into a vibrant city with a multicultural population, a thriving arts community and a proud story to tell. The new American Tobacco Historic District, Brightleaf Square and the American Tobacco Trail preserve Durham's history and appeal to its newer population of young professionals.
Folks from around the area spend afternoons at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park, strolling down "Main Street" at The Streets at Southpoint mall or learning how tornadoes form at the N.C. Museum of Life and Science. The American Dance Festival and the historic Carolina Theatre are among other attractions.
Raleigh
As the state's capital city, Raleigh offers many historic and educational attractions downtown including the Governor's Mansion and the state Capitol building. Raleigh is also home to major museums, among them the N.C. Museum of History, the N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences, The N.C. Museum of Art and the interactive children's museum Exploris, with its accompanying IMAX theater.

Research Triangle Park
Research Triangle Park houses more than 100 research and development facilities that employ more than 38,500 Triangle residents. Combined annual salaries in RTP amount to over $1.2 billion dollars, according to the Research Triangle Foundation of North Carolina.
The foundation also reports: "From 1990 to 2000, more than 42 new companies have established facilities in RTP. New construction and expansion has totaled over 5 million square feet. A research business incubator was formed to provide interim laboratory facilities for early-stage companies."
The park features 12 miles of jogging trails and its own softball league.
